Midland Trail Scenic Highway |
As Executive Director of the Midland Trail Scenic Highway Association, I invite you to leave the Interstate behind and enjoy the special travel experience that comes by taking "the old road."
The Midland Trail National Scenic Byway (U.S. Route 60), is the state's oldest and longest Scenic Byway. It is a well-paved dual-lane highway running along side I-64 in several places, as it stretches 180+ miles from border-to-border across south central West Virginia from White Suphur Springs and Lewisburg to the East, through the Captial City of Charleston, and on to Huntington and Kenova to the west.
For Adventurous Rides
Whether its a ride in a whitewater raft, on a roller coaster at Camden Park, down a water slide at Valley Park Wave Pool, in a aerial tram at Hawk’s Nest, or just a curvy road car trip.
For Scenic Vistas
Whether to see rolling pastures, mountain cliffs, water falls, fishing streams, idyllic forests and woods, or the Grand Canyon of the East—New River Gorge.
For All Seasons
Fabulous fall foliage, inspiring spring redbuds, pleasant lush green summers and just enough snow to make it all interesting. Head For the Hills on Route 60! For Outdoor Activities Fishing, boating, hunting, rafting, rock climbing, hiking, and biking at all skill levels.
