At Hico, U.S. Route 19 intersects U.S. Route 60. The heavily traveled U.S. 19 provides an important gateway to the Midland Trail as it links I-79 and I-77.

Head south to see the New River Gorge Bridge, the world's second longest arch span bridge, the recreational offerings of the New River Gorge National River, and the hip town of Fayetteville.

North, Summerville Dam and Lake provide fishing , camping, hunting, and the best Class V+ rafting east of the Mississippi on the Gauley River.
